Masquerade Ball | Corporate Parties | Themed Events
Masquerade Balls date back to as early as the 14th Century, in Paris, France. These elaborate affairs quickly garnered popularity throughout Europe and became an essential part of the aristocracy. These events were used as a way to showcase one’s societal status. Royal masquerades were always a theatrical and decadent affair, full of drama and intrigue. What made these themed events even more interesting is the fact that they not only sustained but showed increasing popularity over the centuries.
A masquerade ball displayed high-end sophistication, through its styling, entertainment and elegant approach to fancy dress. These aspects made for a unique and breathtaking aesthetic. Imagine if you will, a room decorated with mid-century chandeliers, velveteen black draping and large gold candlestick holders adorning the outskirts of the room. Hydrangeas and chrysanthemums draped down centre tables where a feast fit for kings lay. Ball gowns, tuxes and of course the masquerades’ signature look – fashionably designed masks.
